Who he was

Fr. Prof. Kazimierz Popielski - psychologist and psychotherapist, head of the Department of Psychotherapy and Health Psychology at the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL), one of the most important promoters of logotherapy in Poland.

Achievements

  • He developed the concept of the noetic dimension of personality (book Noetyczny wymiar osobowości, KUL 1994), pointing to the possibility of measuring, diagnosing and treating it, and to noo-psychoprophylaxis.
  • He developed the Noo-Dynamics Test.
  • He edited the volume Człowiek - pytanie otwarte. Studia z logoteorii i logoterapii (“Man - an open question. Studies in logotheory and logotherapy”, 1987).
  • He delivered the laudation when Frankl received an honorary doctorate from KUL (1994).
  • In 2001 he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Trnava (Slovakia).
